Bruce Peninsula artist, Lin Souliere,
is accepted in major national watercolour exhibition.
On Thursday, November 2nd, the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC) unveils Open Water 2006, its 81st annual open juried exhibition of select transparent watercolour paintings.
The John B. Aird Gallery in Toronto hosts this year’s major exhibition.
Visual artist Lin Souliere from Lion’s Head, Ontario, with a painting entitled Ancient Witness is one of the thirty-nine artists accepted into the prestigious Canadian Open Water 2006 event. Entries this year came from Canada, the USA, Malaysia and Singapore.
The exhibition was juried by Ron Hazell CSPWC, Bev Rodin CSPWC and Katerina Atanassova, Curator of the Varley Art Gallery in Markham, Ontario. This exciting 81st annual showcase presents the height of transparent watercolour achievement, with works ranging stylistically from high realism to loose abstraction.
The official opening and presentation of awards will take place Thursday November 2nd, from 6 to 8 pm.
The John B. Aird Gallery is located at 900 Bay St., at Wellesley, in Toronto, where the exhibition continues until November 24, 2006. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday 10 am to 6 pm.
Many of the art works are available for purchase. For collectors and enthusiasts, a full colour catalogue is available.
