Visit Bruce, Grey, Southern Georgian Bay and Manitoulin Island

Sunday, September 27, 2015

Bruce, Grey, Southern Georgian Bay and Manitoulin have a lot to offer visitors who are looking for a memorable escape from the city. Once you are here, you may never want to go home.

I'll mention a few here. Spectacular views, especially in the fall, are not to be missed. The Beaver Valley in Grey County for example offers several lookout points.

One is located on County Road 13 overlooking Kimberley and Beaver Valley Ski Club. It has a large parking lot and picnic tables. The views across the valley are breathtaking. The drive to the lookout along Grey Road 13 is amazing.

Epping Lookout Conservation Area has a pavilion with picnic tables and washrooms are on site. It has better views towards the northern part of the Beaver Valley and Georgian Bay can be seen on a good day.

Two waterfalls in the area are Eugenia Falls at Eugenia Falls Conservation Area just off County Road 13 in Eugenia. The other is Hoggs Falls, located on Lower Valley Road. Signs for Hoggs Falls are east of Flesherton on Grey Road 4.

Hiking Trails are a great way to see the rugged landscape. The Bruce Trail winds it way through the area. Visit the Bruce Trail website.

Besides there being a wealth of great artists, there are also wonderful beaches, paddling, biking, lighthouses, museums, more waterfalls, great local food, wine, beer and cider.

You'll want to come back again.
